El Salvador

Hey Bethany,

I was reflecting on our trip to El Salvador and how awesome it was. It's incredible that it was your fourth trip!! You are amazing to watch as you take leadership in VBS, speak Spanish, and relate to the El Salvadorians of all ages. This was probably our last family mission trip and it will probably go down as my all-time favorite.

God has really prepared you for a life of missions!! Keep me posted on the trip to Guatemala...I AM SUPPORTIVE!!

Just wanted you to let you know that I be praying for you and Travis during this next semester. I know that it will be stressful, but I really believe that it will make you stronger!! It will be so good for him to work through issues and strengthen his relationship with his mom. If you ever need to talk...you can talk to me or mom.

I would love to do pie or a movie this week with you!!

Love,

Dad

Last Week of the Semester

Hey Beb,

I know this is your last week of the semester...don't have alot to say except I know that it is stressful for you...and next week is finals!! I'm proud of your academic effort and will be praying for you.

What are you craving that could go in a care package? :)

I don't know if I have ever shared my life verse but it is found in Psalm 37: 23-24 and goes like this:

"The steps of the good man or ordered by the Lord and he delights in His way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down for the Lord holds him with His hand."

It's weeks like you are facing that I like to remember that verse! Do you have a favorite verse when you are stressed out? If so could you post it here? I would love to read it.

Love you!!

Thankful

Hey Beb,

I've been enjoying having you home for Thanksgiving (and can hardly wait until Christmas break!). Here's a corny acrostic, but it's just my way of saying that I am really thankful for you! :)

Beauty - both inside and out!
Energy - your creative energy blows me away!
Travis - yes, he's a big part of your life and I am thankful for him!
Holiness - your commitment to purity is rare and awesome!
Attitude - you have a ministry heart and I love it!
Normal - your life if 'normal' in comparison to God's Word!
Yielded - God is and is going to use you...it's fun to watch it unfold!

Mostly, just wanted you to know that God is doing an awesome work in your life (look up Philippians 1: 6). I love you!!

Burial at Thebes

Hey Bethany,

You may think I'm silly, but I've started a new blog...it's entitled "My Blog with Bethany." It's only for you...so if you subscribe to it, you will get a few of my thoughts from time to time...

I loved this past weekend...it was so fun to be with you in your new college setting, to be with your friends, to worship with you and to see you 'in action!' The play was awesome, and it reminded me of the incredible gift of creativity that God has given you. Whether you choose to be in more school plays or whether you choose to use it in other ways, just know that it is an amazing gift. My acting experience boils down to one play in High School, "Greensleeves," and then a BSU drama, "The Sobbing Stone" in BSU that was taken to churches. You have done so much more! I'm proud of you and will be supportive of you as you seek ways to express it.

Thought you might want to check out this article and slideshow from the Bolivar newspaper: http://www.bolivarmonews.com/articles/2008/11/17/news/doc4918b57862c4a427540233.txt

It was fun worshipping with you! It was amazing how similiar Noble Hill is to FCC...I will do some more checking on the church, but it was good worshipping there. I know that Travis will have input as to where you both go. I'm just proud that you continue to have a desire to worship and fellowship with God's people. Mom and I will be praying for you as you seek God's leadership in finding a church. My college church experience was unique in that I went to college at Rolla and so I was already plugged in...the greatest benefit my college church gave me was experience...I got to work with children in many different ways and prepared me for a life of ministry.

Well...I will blog more in the future! :) Just know that I loved the weekend and look forward to another one in the future...

See you at Thanksgiving!
